Biography
Including Items of Moderate Interest
I have worked 40 years in the field of civil engineering; I will continue to learn and grow as an engineering professional, because my job and career demand just that. My experience includes Property Condition Assessment (PCA), Forensic and Building Distress Studies, Subsurface Exploration, Laboratory Operations, Soil Mechanics, Foundation Design, Land Development, Water Resources Engineering... You get the picture. Or maybe not, that’s OK.
I also have an interesting family.
My father, John Rowe, is a retired history teacher who mentored students in the school job program, enjoys acting in community theater, and volunteers for many organizations. He is a voracious reader and consumer of news.
My mother, Peggy Rowe, looks after my father full time, and in her spare time writes books that land on the New York Times best seller list. Go figure. https://www.amazon.com/About-Father-Other-Celebrities-Known/dp/194867744X
My older brother, Mike Rowe, has bummed around the entertainment industry forever, and has lately tried his hand at podcasting. Perhaps he will interview me, once he gains enough experience. But that's a pretty high bar.
My younger brother, Philip Rowe, is dedicated to animal rescue, and will drive hundreds of miles to rescue shelter inmates from the 'last call.' Please rescue his wife by taking one or more charges off of his hands and out of his living room. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1332223156906764/posts/8746737335455272/
My beautiful wife, Marjorie Rowe, is an extremely talented school principal who balances the needs of students, teachers, and other children, with the sometimes-hare-brained schemes of local and state government. They would do well to promote her. Just saying...
My older daughter, Katie Gebhart, is a passionate artist and teacher who is always creating. She is allergic to many things, such as food, water and air. We love her for her kindness and patience. Her husband Matt is a great outdoorsman who is always ready to help. https://www.fox13news.com/news/hermitage-artist-retreat-lets-creativity-flow-uninterrupted
My younger daughter, Jessica Phillips, is a teacher who has never feared technology or communication and has also discovered podcasting. Perhaps Jessica and Mike will interview each other? They would probably spend the whole time talking about me. Jessica's husband Will is a Vet Tech and may be a vampire, considering his usual working hours. https://bsky.app/profile/jrphillpsauthor.bsky.social
